About us

The American Congolese Business Affairs Committee (ACBAC) is a U.S.-based commercial action committee dedicated to strengthening, formalizing, and expanding economic and strategic relations between the United States and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

Created to serve as a bridge between public institutions, private investors, and policy stakeholders, ACBAC plays a central role in promoting a stable and mutually beneficial commercial partnership between both nations.

Who We Are

ACBAC brings together economic experts, business advocates, and members of the private and public sectors who share a common vision: to build a robust, transparent, and sustainable economic framework connecting the U.S. and the DRC.

Our organization operates at the intersection of diplomacy, commerce, and development. We provide guidance, analysis, and structured recommendations to support American businesses navigating the Congolese market and to encourage Congolese institutions to adopt policies that promote long-term investment.

What We Stand For

At ACBAC, we believe that strong economic cooperation is essential to ensuring prosperity for both nations. Our commitment is rooted in three fundamental principles:

  • Integrity
  • Collaboration
  • Accountability
  • Impact

Our Role in the U.S.-DRC Relationship

As a recognized stakeholder, ACBAC actively engages with key institutions in both countries. We collaborate with:

  • the U.S. Congress and executive agencies,
  • policymakers and ministries within the Government of the DRC,
  • private-sector representatives, economic operators, and international partners.

Through this dual engagement, we help shape policies that strengthen trade, improve business conditions, and enhance bilateral cooperation.

Our work extends beyond advocacy; we also provide insights on market opportunities, regulatory frameworks, and geopolitical considerations that affect commercial activity in the DRC.

Our Contribution as an NGO

Operating as a non-governmental organization, ACBAC participates in national and international discussions on economic development. We bring forward recommendations that promote:

  • equitable trade practices,
  • a favorable investment climate,
  • sustainable development strategies,
  • and long-term peace and governance initiatives.

By amplifying the voices of American businesses and fostering constructive dialogue between decision-makers, we work to ensure that both nations benefit from a balanced and forward-looking economic partnership.

A Vision for the Future

ACBAC envisions a future where the United States and the Democratic Republic of Congo enjoy a strong, stable, and dynamic economic alliance. A future where investments create jobs, markets grow sustainably, and cooperation contributes to lasting peace and prosperity.

We remain committed to advancing this mission with professionalism, dedication, and a long-term perspective.
